Huh, I'm not sure. Is that from AO3? I've always found that the level of throttling built into FFF works without an issue for me, I've done over a thousand fics at once, the main reason I try and do smaller batches is because I can't use calibre to find anything to read while an operation like that is running. (When I do the larger batches, I start them before going to sleep.) Calibre and your plugin are both fully updated? Any chance your internet connection is unstable or something like that? That shouldn't even be the error you get if a fic is deleted, I don't think.
